Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s Legacy Honored with Day of Service

For more than 10 years now, Shell Oil Company has volunteered at the Houston Food Bank in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. On Monday, January 19, we welcomed more than 300 Shell and Motiva volunteers.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'” Shell and Motiva responded by spending their day filling food sacks for our Backpack Buddy program. They produced 4,909 food sacks, which is equivalent to 24,545 meals for kids in need.

We are grateful for the continued partnership.
